Hyderabad:The Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR) project reached a crucial milestone on Saturday, with the Goverment of India
inviting tenders for the construction of its northern segment. The tenders, valued at ₹7,104 crore and divided into five packages,
are set to transform the state’s infrastructure, with a two-year timeline for completion. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) issued
tender notifications for construction of the 161.5-km northern section of the RRR, which will be a four-lane, access-controlled greenfield expressway.
The project is divided into five packages:
Package1 from Girmapur to Reddipalle (34.518 km) for 1,529.19 crore
Package2 from Reddipalle to slampur (26 km) at 1,114.80 crore
Package 3 from Islampur to Pragnapur (23 km) at 1,184.81 crore
Package 4from Pragnapur to Rayagiri (43 km) at 1,728.22 crore
Package 5 from Rayagiri to Tangad Palle (35 km) at 1,547.04 crore.

What is Budget of RRR
According to the DPR(Detailed Project Report) accessed by TNIE, the project was originally estimated at Rs 11,961.48 crore. However, due to delays in execution,
the cost has now increased to approximately Rs 15,000 crore. In 2018, the then BRS government proposed the RRR project with
an initial budget of Rs 9,164 crore.
RRR Divided two parts:
Northen part:
The proposed length of RRR’s northern part is 161.5 km. It is a four-lane, access-controlled greenfield regional expressway.
NHAI decided to undertake this project in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode.
Southern part:
The southern section of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR) is a 182.230 kilometer stretch of expressway that will connect
key regions in Telangana
Route
The southern section of the RRR runs from Choutuppal back to Sangareddy, passing through Chintapalli, Nalgonda District, Amangal, Shadnagar, and Chevella
Purpose The RRR will improve connectivity between districts in Telangana, reduce traffic congestion, and promote regional development.
Design The RRR will initially have six lanes, but is designed to be widened to eight lanes as traffic increases.
